Erika Parente
Erika Parente is dedicated to enhancing the skin epidermis organoid model by incorporating neutrophils. Skin epidermis organoids are sophisticated three-dimensional constructs derived from stem cells or organ progenitors, closely mimicking the structure and function of the skin's epidermal layer. By introducing neutrophils, a key component of the innate immune system, into these organoids, the research aims to create a more dynamic and accurate model of the skin's immune environment. This innovative approach will enable detailed studies of neutrophil behavior, skin-immune interactions, and inflammatory responses, ultimately contributing to a better understanding of skin disorders and the development of targeted therapies.
